As we traverse through eras in Virtual Reality, we expect nothing but top-notch experiences from our Quest 3 & Quest 3S. We’ve all been there—just when you find that perfect spot in the game, the dreaded low battery warning hits. We try to estimate how long we have left, but eventually, it all goes dark. Not because of a moonlit night, but because the battery of our beloved headset has drained completely. We crave the comfort of long, uninterrupted play sessions and dread the seemingly endless hours of recharging before we can dive back into our favorite worlds.
Enter KIWI design’s latest marvels: the K4 Boost Battery Strap & H4 Boost Halo Battery Strap. These new additions promise to extend your gaming sessions and provide the peace of mind that your adventures won’t be cut short by a dying battery.
K4 Boost Battery Strap –
Let’s delve into the packaging for a moment. On the front, you’ll find an image of the K4 Boost Battery Strap, paired with a clean, minimalist design. The KIWI design logo sits at the top left, while the description of the K4 Boost Battery Strap resides in the lower left.
Slide off the slipcover, and the simplicity continues, with the KIWI design logo prominently displayed in the center.

Inside the box, you will find the following contents:
- K4 Boost Battery Strap
- User Manual
- Warranty Guide

Installation couldn’t be easier. First, remove the facial interface from the headset and set it aside. Then, gently detach both arms from your Quest 3/Quest 3S headsets, using minimal pressure. You’ll notice the washable cushion for the back of your head—feels pretty nice, right? Next, attach the arms of the K4 Boost Battery Strap to your headset. The adjustable, well-built strap ensures everything stays secure, so no worries about it coming apart mid-game.

Once you’ve got the arms of the K4 attached to your Quest 3/Quest 3S, thread the top strap through the headset’s slot. Then reinstall the facial interface, and connect the attached USB Type-C connector to the headset’s charging port. Towards the back, just in front of the Back Fitting Knob, you’ll spot four LED indicators. These LEDs show the power connection status, and battery level during charging and use, as well as low power and abnormal warnings.

H4 Boost Halo Battery Strap –
Next up is the KIWI design H4 Boost Halo Battery Strap. Like the K4 Boost Battery Strap, the packaging keeps it simple, with the H4 Boost prominently displayed in the center. The KIWI design logo sits on the top left, and the description is neatly positioned at the bottom left.

Opening the box, you have the following contents inside:
- H4 Halo Boost Battery Strap
- User Manuel
- Warranty Guide

Just like with the K4 Boost, installation for the H4 Halo Boost is a breeze. First, remove the facial interface from your Quest 3/Quest 3S and then gently detach the arms from the headset. Attach the arms of the H4 to the slots on your headset. You’ll need to attach the fore clip to the slot where the head strap usually goes. Why, you ask? Well, the H4 Halo Boost features two self-adaptive cushions for the back and forehead, ensuring zero facial pressure and a custom fit. Don’t forget to reattach your facial interface. The Fore Fitting Knob allows for up-and-down alignment, giving you a clearer experience while keeping your head and face cooler. Perfect for those long gaming sessions or movie marathons while lying down in ultimate comfort.

Just like with the K4, the H4 has four LED indicators positioned towards the back, in front of the fitting knob. These indicators show the power connection status, battery level during charging and use, and low power and abnormal warnings. But here’s what makes the H4 stand out: it features two dials instead of one. There’s the familiar Back Fitting Knob for a snug fit, and there’s also the Fore Fitting Knob. This second knob provides up-and-down alignment for a clearer experience, keeping your head and face cooler during those long sessions or when you’re lying down enjoying some movies in maximum comfort.

To top it off, there are some other benefits from the K4 Boost Battery Strap and the H4 Boost Halo Battery Strap.
With the K4 Boost & H4 Boost Halo, the benefits include:
- Extended Playtime with Enhanced Battery: Enjoy uninterrupted gaming with up to 3 hours of additional battery life; play longer without worrying about running out of power; tailored to your usage scenarios for maximum performance.
- Dual Fast Charging & Two Times Faster: Power up both H4 Boost and Quest 3/3S simultaneously with the Dual Boost Charging system. Fully recharge both in just 2.5 hours, 5300 mAh (2650 x 2 cells), with a 45W adapter, delivering 25W power to your Quest 3/3S while charging the internal battery.
- Zero Facial Pressure & Custom Fit: Adaptive front headrest design evenly distributes the weight of Quest 3/3S, reducing facial pressure and offering a comfortable fit for extended use, even without the facial interface; elastic side straps, adjustable top strap, and soft rear cushion ensure a secure fit for all head sizes, ideal for gaming, movie-watching, and productivity.
- Adjustable FOV & All-Day Ventilation: The damping sider allows front-to-back FOV adjustments, while the headset lever knob provides up-and-down alignment for a clearer experience; the innovative ventilation design in the fore cushion keeps the head and face cool during long sessions.
- Lie Down Comfortably:Â Integrated adjustment knob enables effortless fitting; enjoy total comfort while lying down on your couch or bed, making it easy to fully immerse yourself in gaming or movies with the H4 Head Strap on Quest 3/Quest 3S.
If I could add one thing to the mix, it would be a way to integrate the K4 and H4 with the Vertical Charging Stand. Don’t get me wrong, you can still use the stand to display your Quest 3, but you can’t use the USB-C connector to charge. Pay attention to the 2nd bullet point above. It mentions that you can recharge both the K4 and Quest 3/Quest 3S in just 2.5 hours simultaneously using the internal Dual Boost Charging System, provided you use a 45W adapter. Naturally, I had to put this to the test. I completely drained my Quest 3 and both the K4 and H4. Then, I opened the 45W adapter, and true to KIWI design’s style, the packaging was straightforward.
45W USB C Fast Charger –

Opening the box, you have the following contents inside:
- 45W USB C Fast Charger
- USB C to USB C cable
- User Manuel
- Warranty Guide

Thanks to dual fast charging in both the K4 and H4, you can connect them to the USB-C port on your headset and then hook up the 45W USB-C Fast Charger to the port on the underside of the battery strap. I put both the K4 and H4 through their paces with my Quest 3 fully drained and tested the dual fast charging. In just about 2.5 hours, my Quest 3 was showing that reassuring green light of the 5300nAh (2650 x 2 cells), and each of the four LED indicators was full, signaling that I was ready for extended play sessions without much downtime.
Combining this setup with the G4 Pro Performance Controller Grips, which is a new Made for Meta product, creates a win-win situation. Both the K4 and H4 felt secure on my head, and at no point did I feel like something was about to fall apart. The fast charging is top-notch, thanks to the dual FD chips ensuring maximum output, the 10 integrated chips supporting simultaneous charging, and over 10 protections to guarantee a high-quality cable and surge protection. KIWI design continues to excel in enhancing, protecting, and simplifying your VR experience.
