Pre-Orders For The Launch Accessories, Games, & The Nintendo Switch 2 Go Live On…

by The Time Tunnel Gamer

On April 2, 2025, we had the Nintendo Direct that told us some things we were interested in knowing and some things we had to find out on our own by visiting Nintendo’s site afterwards. Many are still trying to take in the actual price given what Nintendo’s past systems have cost, and even are still hoping that the prices for both the systems and the games will go down (surprise, they didn’t). Many of us were ready to pre-order on April 9, 2025, only to have that date pulled due to the ongoing tariff situations

Well, now, it seems we have a new date for the pre-orders, accessories, and games, which, depending on what you want, you may need to open those wallets a little larger. According to Nintendo’s site, the following are the manufacturer’s suggested retail pricing:

  • Nintendo Switch 2 – $449.99
  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle – $499.99
  • Mario Kart World – $79.99
  • Donkey Kong Bananza – $69.99
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller – $84.99
  • Joy-Con 2 Pair – $94.99
  • Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip – $39.99
  • Joy-Con 2 Strap – $13.99
  • Joy-Con 2 Wheel Set – $24.99
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Camera – $54.99
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Dock Set – $119.99
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case & Screen Protector – $39.99
  • Nintendo Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case – $84.99
  • Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter – $34.99
  • Samsung microSD Express Card – 256GB for Nintendo Switch™ 2 – $59.99

Keep in mind that accessories, because of the tariff situation, have increased, so if a family of four wants to game together, more price than we first thought, especially when you need a separate pair of the bigger Joy cons. Yes, you can save money by choosing a microSD card from a brand like SanDisk or Samsung instead of the official Nintendo card; they often offer better prices. But, remember, that the Nintendo Switch 2 will only work with microSD Express Cards, but can take up to 2 TB. The Switch 2 comes with 256GB of storage, and as of now, the biggest Express Card is 1 TB.

As far as the date for the pre-orders, we don’t have long now as we can officially pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2, accessories, and games starting on Thursday, April 24, 2025, with an official release date on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
